The Organisation
Founded in 2000, Proforest is a global leader in the development and implementation of the responsible production and sourcing of agricultural and forestry commodities. We are a not-for-profit group with a global presence across Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa and Europe, and work with governments, the private sector and civil society to deliver positive outcomes for people, nature, and climate where commodities are produced. We work through a combination of consultancy services and longer-term programmes.
Our work in Southeast Asia covers a wide range of commodities, including palm oil, coconut, cocoa, rubber, sugar and timber. We help the downstream companies engage their upstream suppliers to spread their responsible sourcing commitments along the supply chain; support multi-stakeholder collaboration across sectors and landscapes; develop local knowledge and capacity to achieve positive impact.
