➔ Description of the mission

Key Responsibilities

MEAL System Design, Planning, and Tools Development – 30%

  • Design and update the project’s MEAL plan aligned with logframe, donor requirements, and CARE standards.
  • Develop and adapt monitoring and assessment tools (baseline, midline, endline surveys, gender and protection audits).
  • Establish secure systems for ethical data collection, management, and protection.
  • Integrate gender-sensitive and inclusive indicators; ensure data disaggregation by gender, age, ethnicity, and disability.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Quality Assurance, and Accountability – 30%

  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits to assess progress and identify gaps.
  • Provide quality assurance for MEAL processes and reporting.
  • Set up community feedback and response mechanisms that are safe and accessible.
  • Deliver evidence-based recommendations to improve project strategies, focusing on women’s and youth engagement.

Reporting, Documentation, and Knowledge Management – 10%

  • Consolidate MEAL data and prepare monthly, interim, and final donor reports.
  • Document case studies, success stories, and lessons learned.
  • Ensure systematic archiving and sharing of MEAL data within CARE and partner networks.

Capacity Building, Learning, and Knowledge Generation – 10%

  • Train field and partner teams on MEAL systems and tools.
  • Facilitate reflection sessions, after-action reviews, and learning exchanges.
  • Contribute to CARE’s global learning agenda by sharing local insights and evidence.

Coordination, Partnerships, and Cross-Project Support – 10%

  • Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to ensure coherence in MEAL approaches.
  • Provide MEAL support to cross-project humanitarian-development-peace initiatives.

Other Responsibilities – 10%

  • Uphold CARE’s policies on safety, security, gender equality, inclusion, safeguarding, and child protection.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive work environment and ensure compliance with ethical standards.

➔ Profile

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, or related field.
  • Experience:
  • 2–3 years in MEAL roles, preferably with international NGOs or humanitarian/development organizations.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing MEAL systems and frameworks.
  • Strong skills in quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, and reporting; familiarity with digital tools preferred.
  • Experience with donor-funded projects and accountability mechanisms.
  • Skills: Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving abilities
