JOB SUMMARY
The Resource Development and Communications Specialist will:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT :
• Identify funding and partnership prospects and opportunities to mobilize support for the realization of Habitat Vietnam’s strategic plan
• Cultivate corporate, FOI, affiliate pipelines, targets, forecasts, pre-positioning activities, Go/No Go, proposal development processes and the review of proposals together with the Habitat Vietnam Development Team
• Proactively identify and nurture partnerships with INGOs/NGOs/For Profit as well as private sector entities who can help Habitat Vietnam access new funding streams (e.g. networking, presenting about Habitat Vietnam to find new opportunities)
• Build and maintain effective relationships domestically and regionally alongside the RD&C Manager and Habitat Vietnam leadership in accordance with the organization’s strategy and plans
• Prepare briefings and other information materials that support Habitat Vietnam leadership with corporate, FOI, affiliate engagement as needed.
• Develop and manage an active relationship with counterparts (including HFHI Global Funding Network) and other platforms to gather funding intelligence or leads
• Analyze opportunity and donor requirements
• Develop donor (corporate, FOI, affiliate…) database and regular monitoring/sharing of opportunities in line with Habitat Vietnam targeted donors and partners
• Support the development of specific annual resource development targets and implementation of strategies (including but not limited to grant development and acquisition, annual appeals, special fundraising events – international and corporate/major donor sponsored events locally/domestic CSR, etc.)
• Coordinate donor/partner visits and provide general support, as needed, and develop itineraries that will strongly engage prospect donors
• Develop and implement local and international engagement programs (for high-network individuals, influencers /celebrities, cause marketing partners, among others)
• Creatively bring about fit-for-purpose, current and agile engagement and fundraising programs befitting the Vietnamese context
2. STEWARDSHIP
• Support the cultivation and stewardship of resources and relationships
• Contribute to grant tracking and monitor donor compliance
3. COMMUNICATIONS: Contribute to the development and implementation of the Habitat Vietnam’s three-year resource development and communications strategies.
-INTERNAL COMMUNICATION:
• Review, draft, update and socialize internal communications
• Disseminate Branding Guidelines, Photo and Communication Policy, etc. and build internal capacity.
-EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION:
• Develop and maintain a variety of creative external communications materials and lead the distribution management: program briefs, country profiles, monthly e-newsletter, annual report, program reports, most significant change and impact stories, web and social media updates, campaign materials, etc.
• Manage Habitat Vietnam website and social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram & Twitter) and GROW Habitat Vietnam’s presence in them
• Manage campaigns and special events in partnership with Volunteer Program and Institutional Engagement team.
• Manage design agencies or third-party creatives when needed
• Coordinate the overall media coordination and outreach, including the management of media database serving as the organization’s media contact
• Write homeowner, community, partner impact stories, most significant change stories, progress stories and manage publication and distribution
• Manage the design and production of Habitat Vietnam merchandises/collaterals; procure samples and finished products
• Monitor translations and transcriptions of Vietnamese to English language vice-versa of media coverage and other activities
• Manage photo and video assets of Habitat Vietnam
• Organize and participate in external networking and marketing communications events
• Collaborate with Asia Pacific Communications team for regional campaigns and events
• Work across the organization, building strong relationships with colleagues to stay informed of latest organizational and field developments
• Conduct relevant administrative activities as required.
CRITICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Minimum education & Technical competencies
• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience of fundraising, marketing communications, communications, partnership and business development strongly preferred
• Must have working knowledge of the local, national, regional and global trends
• Must be familiar with regulations and needs concerning the INGO sector of Vietnam and able to apply with in-depth knowledge and skills in fundraising in consideration of this context.
2. Business competencies
• Fluency in spoken and written English. Native language skills in Vietnamese. Excellent writing and public speaking as well as translation - presentation skills required.
• Highly creative and resourceful, is self-leading, and able to coordinate multiple tasks
• Self-motivated, result-driven, possesses a positive and proactive outlook, flexible and able to work independently and without close supervision and when under pressure, and an excellent team player
• Able to work effectively in cross-cultural settings; can support, negotiate and cooperate with those of other cultures
• Creative and outgoing with excellent people skills and an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude
• Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Graphics design (InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, etc) and photography skills are a plus
• Knowledge in Movie Makers and web programs are a plus
• Proven experience using social media tools (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) to energize interactions and mobilized increased presence and following
