Levanta Renewables is a utility-scale renewable energy developer and independent power producer in Southeast Asia. We develop, build and deliver renewable energy solutions that work for each country in support of its transition to renewable energy, and do so in a sustainable manner while helping local communities. With a shared goal towards helping Southeast Asia realise its energy transition and net zero targets, Levanta is backed by Actis, a leading sustainable infrastructure private equity firm. We are developing 1.5 GW of renewable energy projects in Southeast Asia through M&A and greenfield development of C&I and utility scale projects.

Due to business expansion, we are actively seeking a Senior Commercial BD Manager to be based in Philippines to join our Utility-scale team. Reporting to the Country Head, Philippines, this individual will be a key member of the team and will work closely with other departments to identify, evaluate, and execute utility-scale opportunities that align with the company's strategic goals and growth objectives.

Role & Responsibilities

The Senior Commercial BD Manager will be responsible for supporting Levanta’s commercial activities in the region with a focus on the Philippines. In this role, the Senior Commercial BD Manager will be working in a startup-like environment within a lean team and will need to be able to work efficiently and effectively to identify and pursue potential opportunities.

  • Evaluate utility-scale opportunities for Levanta end-to-end (origination - conducting due diligence - submitting offers – transaction documents negotiations – closing the transaction)
  • Prepare key memos (board presentations, valuation note etc.) pertaining to these opportunities
  • Liaise with the prospective sellers / partners and drive the negotiations with them
  • Prepare and review the financial models of these opportunities, analyzing the key assumptions etc. and providing for sensitivity analyses
  • Create and maintain the deal pipeline
  • Build a strong network for originating deals and systematic approach to shortlist and process deals
  • Perform other duties as may be required by the Philippines Country Head.
Profile

Ideal candidate should possess:

  • Strong analytical and corporate finance skills: Able to understand and assess value & value drivers for contemplated opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills: Able to effectively present proposals to the leadership team and external stakeholders including investors. Builds and maintains excellent relationships with external advisors.
  • Strong negotiation and deal-making skills: Responsible for negotiating and structuring deals, including structuring due diligence programs and coordinating the same.
  • Strong problem-solving skills: Able to identify and evaluate complex opportunities and develop creative solutions to overcome challenges and barriers.
  • Leadership experience: Able to work well within a team and motivate team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Ability to work well under pressure: Need to be able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Attention to detail: will be responsible for managing the end-to-end transaction closing process and must pay close attention to detail and ensure that all aspects of the process are handled accurately and efficiently.
  • Education level: At least a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution. A master's degree or other relevant certifications such as finance, data science, or business will be seen as an advantage.
  • Job experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the energy industry or a related field, with a track record of successfully leading deals. Experience in the wind and solar energy industry and / closing deals within the Philippines will be an advantage.
  • Languages: Fluency in both English & Filipino is required.
