The Context

The Makesense Studio team enables this mission through impact-driven storytelling and strategic communication projects, ensuring that we reach, inform, and empower 5,000,000 Filipinos on social challenges that affect them personally and collectively.

It is our dream to (1) be the leader in impact-driven storytelling in the Philippines and Asia, and (2) empower more community-based storytellers in telling their own experiences to inspire others.

Your Mission

You will be central to the conceptualization and execution of graphics supplementing the organization’s storytelling initiatives and integrated communication campaigns. The content you make will be vital in bridging gaps within communities and amplifying the stories of our stakeholders on the ground.

You will contribute to communications strategizing and learn Makesense’s creative production process from conceptualisation to publication of various materials. You will also be working with insights and research to improve on design interventions to better engage with our audiences.

You will be working directly with the Communications Managers of Makesense along with the entirety of the Studio team and other functional groups of the organization in Asia.

Profile

Your profile

  • You are at least a fresh graduate of any university, with experience in producing creative content using various design software or websites, and copywriting for content on different media channels.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications/Media Studies/Arts/Advertising/Marketing or other related fields is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • You are passionate about storytelling, conceptualizing, and producing online content around key socio-environmental issues.
  • You are context-driven and human-centered in designing content. Understanding different communities interests you, and you love thinking of creative ideas to engage their attention!
  • You have experience working in a dynamic, creative environment, closely collaborating with a diverse team toward a common goal. You can adapt to different brand directions including visuals and tone of voice.
  • You have a socio-environmental advocacy that you’re passionate about, and you are excited to use your skills in assisting the development of local social impact initiatives.

What would make you an outstanding candidate?

  • You have 1-2 years of experience in content creation including creative design and copywriting, social media marketing, online community management, research and insighting, or similar projects. You specialize in creating visual materials.
  • You have strong organizational skills, lots of autonomy, and the ability to work in an international team in a multicultural context.
  • Critical thinking, insights applying to content creation
  • You are level-headed when facing complex situations and can approach problem-solving efficiently and creatively.
  • You are always willing to learn more; for you, giving and receiving feedback is key to building healthy teams.
  • You have previous active engagement with youth university organizations and have established connections with their leaders or members.
