What is makesense?

makesense is an international organisation working to accelerate just and equitable transitions across society.

We believe that addressing today's biggest social and environmental challenges, from climate change and biodiversity loss to growing inequalities, requires more than technological innovation. It requires people, organisations and institutions to work together to imagine, build and adopt new ways of living, working and collaborating.

Since 2010, makesense has been strengthening the capacity of citizens, civil society organisations, entrepreneurs, businesses and public institutions to become active contributors to these transitions. Today, our global team of more than 120 employees works across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Southeast Asia to design and implement programmes that create lasting systemic change.

In Southeast Asia, our mission is simple: to help build the new models our societies need while enabling more people to become part of the solution.

We do this through five complementary areas of work:

  • Impact Workforce Development: We help students, professionals and workers, including those from underserved communities, access meaningful careers that contribute to a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient future. Through career platforms, learning programmes and employer partnerships, we are building the region's impact workforce.
  • Just Economy Incubation: We support entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises developing innovative solutions to today's social and environmental challenges. By strengthening their capacity and connecting them with the right partners, we help accelerate the emergence of economic models that serve both people and the planet.
  • Civil Society Strengthening: Strong civil society organisations are essential to democratic and equitable societies. We work alongside non-profits, grassroots movements and informal collectives to strengthen their organisational capacity, leadership and long-term sustainability so they can increase their influence and scale their impact.
  • Civic Engagement: Systemic change only happens when citizens become active participants. We design campaigns, communities and collective action initiatives that empower people to engage with societal challenges, shift public narratives and accelerate the adoption of solutions that improve lives and protect the planet.
  • Mindset Change: Stories shape societies. We collaborate with creators, influencers and thought leaders to develop compelling narratives that make complex issues accessible, inspire hope and encourage meaningful action. By changing how people understand today's challenges, we help create the conditions for lasting systems change.

Role Context – Coordinate and Grow The Good Chat Fellowship in Indonesia

Over the past three years, The Good Chat has become one of Southeast Asia's leading fellowship programmes helping social media creators and online communities become influential voices for the energy transition.

Rather than asking creators to become climate experts, we help them connect energy transition issues to the everyday realities of their audiences. Through coaching, community-building, social listening, and partnerships with civil society organisations, our fellows create compelling content that helps millions of citizens better understand today's energy challenges and the solutions that already exist.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about creators, communities, and civic engagement to become the operational heart of our Indonesian fellowship.

Why this role matters

The success of The Good Chat relies on the quality of the experience we create for every fellow.

From identifying inspiring creators and supporting them throughout the programme, to organising workshops, coordinating events, and maintaining strong relationships with local partners, this role ensures that every participant feels supported, challenged, and empowered to create meaningful impact.

If you enjoy building communities, coordinating programmes, and helping people unlock their potential, this role is for you.

Your role

You will coordinate the delivery of The Good Chat Indonesia, working closely with the Southeast Asia Civic Engagement Lead and reporting directly to Jib Aksorndee, The Good Chat regional coordinator.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the operational coordination of The Good Chat Indonesia fellowship.
  • Identifying, screening, and coordinating the recruitment of potential fellows (final selection decisions will be made by Jib Aksorndee).
  • Providing weekly follow-up, coaching, and day-to-day support to fellows throughout the programme.
  • Coordinating fellowship workshops, learning sessions, networking events, and community activities.
  • Supporting the facilitation of online and in-person sessions.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for Indonesian fellows throughout their learning journey.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with Indonesian civil society organisations, ecosystem partners, and guest speakers.
  • Coordinating programme logistics, communications, timelines, and reporting.
  • Collecting participant feedback and contributing to the continuous improvement of the fellowship.
