The “More with Less in the Philippine Coconut Industry” project by PBSP, Lionheart, Triple20/BaiAni and Philippine Coconut Authority will contribute to SDG8 by stimulating higher levels of economic activity in the coconut sector through technological upgrading and innovation, and by focusing on safe and labor-intensive production of high value-added products from coconut sap.

The project will also pilot a business model on the establishment of nurseries or breeding gardens for superior variety seedlings, as an enterprise that would bring income to cooperative or farmers associations.

As an added value, the consortium will implement activities that will promote agricultural enterprise as a lucrative source of livelihood among the youth. The pilot nurseries for hybrid seedlings, as well as the demo farms will be opened to senior high students and agriculture students as immersion or practicum sites.
