General Scope of Work: The Project Officer shall ensure that all the activities are delivered, and outcomes are facilitated within the project period. He/She is responsible for facilitating the development of communication and advocacy plans and strategies that will support the Rights of Nature (RoN) advocacy and the RoN PH Movement.

Specific Tasks

  • Assist in the implementation of the strategic plans, specifically for the Rights of Nature resolution, as approved the PMPI General Assembly.
  • Help in facilitating effective coordination and synchronizations of activities of PMPI partners and the RoN PH Movement.
  • Come up with mechanism to monitor the movement's actions and communicate it with the members.
  • Prepare regular updates for the National Coordinating Council and Co-Convenors Committee meetings as well as help in consolidating reports on the network's thematic concerns.
  • Help develop resource materials on the RoN for the network and for public's consumption.
  • Coordinate and convene regularly the Rights of Nature Task Force and the Rights of Nature Steering Committee and pool of experts.
  • Provide technical and logistical support to the Task Force, Steering Committee and pool of experts.
  • Ensure engagement and coordination with the HIRAYA Youth and other RoN groups created.
  • Act as resource person for RoN.
  • Ensure lobby work is sustained both at the local and national level, and national agencies.
  • Coordinate with lawyers in the legal aspect especially in documentation of tights violations.
  • Perform other tasks and/or as requested by the National Coordinator.

Project Duration: The project will run for 17 months or until July 2025

Profile

Job Requirements:

1. Must be a Filipino.

2. A college graduate, preferably with a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Political Science, and Social Sciences, and other related courses.

3. With experience working in an NGO environment for at least 2 years.

4. With high-level skill in communication and coordination as well as people skill.

5. With some skills in writing statements, press releases, and doing media work.

6. Computer and social media literate.

7. With ability to work under pressure and a flexible schedule.

8. With ability to multi-task under minimal supervision.
