Successful applicants will be working with experts who are leaders in their field in a multidisciplinary environment. As part of Water & Maritime Advisory Group Indonesia, you will actively contribute to the growth of our business portfolio by actively utilizing your (and our) networks and contacts!

What will you do

  • Work across the various international teams and advisory groups in the Business Line Water & Maritime, to develop client relations and acquire projects in Indonesia and Southeast Asia under our APAC business initiatives together with like-minded colleagues;
  • Apply your experience to play an important role as a mentor of younger colleagues and help them to develop their consultancy and project management skills. Leading by example and coaching will be an important, but also fun part of your work;
  • Be based in Jakarta, and available for short missions to our clients, offices, partners, projects.

General Responsibilities:

  • Analyse climate change and other relevant data
  • Developing climate resilience adaptation plan and mitigation plan
  • Performing water-related disaster risk assessment
  • Reviewing climate policy and strategy development in Indonesia and relevant project countries
  • Identifying climate financing options
  • Mapping stakeholder and actively maintain stakeholder engagement at project level
  • Contribute to project activities and deliver the associated project deliverables, either as project manager or project team member
  • Contribute to business development by providing strategic advice on the climate change issues to existing and potential clients, including the preparation of marketing materials and proposals
  • Build, maintain and utilize a network of internal and external stakeholders / partners
  • Work effectively with the processes, tools, and resources of Royal HaskoningDHV, both locally in the Indonesia and globally, including being proactive in sharing knowledge, continuously improving processes, creating innovations, and relentlessly striving for technical excellence
  • Seeks out ways to improve analysis processes and ensures critical thinking is conducted throughout the planning team

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree in Civil / Environmental / Planning and Design / Urban policy / Sustainable Development or equivalent
  • Having minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience
  • Having solid knowledge and understanding on the topics of climate change, climate adaptation and mitigation, disaster management in Indonesia specifically and preferably in APAC region generally
  • Have a strong leadership skill; able to be assertive, comfortable in making decisions and commercial acumen
  • Having experiences working on IFI and government projects on water sector
  • Having the ability to work on multi-projects and work effectively in a multi-functional project team
  • Having strong quantitative/data analytics skills
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal.
  • Fluent in both English and Indonesian (oral and written)
  • Able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work
  • Adaptable and flexible across various projects and clients, including site visit activity (short term mission, not limited to remote areas)
  • Team player; able to work and maintain good working relationship with project team
  • Independent thinker and have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good organizational skills
