The position

For our growing company, we are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to build and oversee our organization’s operations and to ensure superb customer experience. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for maximizing our sales team potential, crafting and executing on ambitious but achievable sales plans. As a result, you will be spending a significant amount of time in the field to be close to the sales teams and customers. You’ll have to maintain control of different salesrepresentatives and marketing officers, so we expect you to be an experienced and effective leader. If you also have excellent people skills, business acumen and exemplary work ethics, we’d like to meet you.


  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customers’ needs.
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective customers, project partners, farmers groups and ACs.
  • Implement a strategic sales plan that sets the foundations of the business.
  • Build and develop an efficient and effective sales & distribution network.
  • Work closely with local partners and the government to achieve a sales plan.
  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team.
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers/partners.
  • Analyzes the different regions’ potential, track sales and make status reports.
  • Receive and interpret feedback from existing and prospective customers.
  • Identify and suggest new services/products and efficient sales processes


  • BSc/BA in agriculture, business administration, sales or relevant field
  • Proven working experience as a business development manager or sales & marketing manager or relevant role.
  • Knowledgeable about agriculture value chains, seasonality and water sources of different regions
  • Ability to communicate with local government, farming organizations and agro input.
  • Willingness to travel to sales regions for 2-3 weeks per month.
  • Familiarity with IMS and sales reporting tools by using a mobile device.
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
