KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Develop a Communications plan for the Asia Pacific region and lead the implementation of communications activities in consultation with the line manager.
  • Provide input to the Stakeholder Engagement & Communications Division to develop communication materials that are relevant for the various stakeholders in the region.
  • Coordinate and support dissemination of RSPO APAC communications materials for key grower markets in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, as well as import markets such as China, India, and Japan - across traditional and digital media channels.
  • Coordinate and support planning and implementation of media/communication campaigns to promote awareness of sustainable palm oil, RSPO certification standards, the RSPO Trademark and the uptake of RSPO certified sustainable palm oil (CSPO) in APAC among other topics.
  • Gather, organise, translate, and draft information to enable RSPO to respond to media requests and crisis/issue management in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Understand the media environment/landscape in this region and to cultivate good rapport and engagement with priority media titles.
  • Assist with research and production of materials for presentations and/or interviews for the division lead. This includes commissioning content for the region and managing a regional inventory of RSPO communication assets.
  • Support in responding to general and media enquiries in APAC, including to:
  • Ensure members are supported with timely and accurate information and services.
  • Support regional activities to engage and build rapport with members.
  • Support the APAC team with all communication elements for the organisation of regional roadshows and workshops to strengthen member engagement.
  • Support any internal communication requirements to ensure organisational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders.

Profile

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

Education

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in mass communications or relevant fields

Experience

  • Minimum six years working experience, with sound experience in Public Relations and Communications.

Technical and Professional Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of media landscapes in key APAC markets, including a relationship with key media titles.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritise multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
  • Familiar with all forms of communication formats (print, audio, video, social)
  • Able to work in a multistakeholder and international environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and interact with different stakeholders
  • Professional fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is mandatory
  • Proficiency in an additional APAC language is highly desirable
