Company Description

Biochar Life, an impact venture of Warm Heart Worldwide, is dedicated to cooling the climate by removing carbon from the atmosphere. We work with smallholder farmers in the developing world to convert crop waste into carbon sequestering biochar, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Our mission is to train and empower farmers to adopt sustainable practices and secure global carbon offset payments for their efforts.

Role Description

This is a full-time role as a Country Manager for Biochar Life in Thailand. The Country Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all operations related to biochar production and farmer training in Thailand. This includes coordinating with local stakeholders, conducting farmer trainings, monitoring biochar production, and ensuring compliance with carbon offset requirements. This position is based in Chiang Mai Province with some flexibility for remote work.

Qualifications

Experience in project management and operations
Knowledge of agricultural practices and sustainable farming
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and remotely
Fluency in Thai and English (both written and spoken)
Understanding of carbon offset markets and certification processes
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Passion for environmental sustainability and social impact
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Environmental Science, Agriculture, Business)
